Mike Crispi Owes Spadea $25,000 and an Endorsement

There’s a fine line between bold commentary and flat-out dishonesty. Mike Crispi, a self-styled conservative commentator, crossed that line when he made a loud, unequivocal claim on social media: that Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster had banned gubernatorial candidate Bill Spadea and any related groups from ever hosting events on the premises. “He now can’t host. Bottom line. He’s TOAST,” Crispi posted confidently.

But then reality arrived.

On May 8th, 2025, an independent investigative journalist known as Defender of the Republic on X and Instagram published an email from Trump National in Bedminster General Manager David Schutzenhofer. The email was plain as day, undeniable, and directly from the venue that Crispi swore was closed to Spadea “for life.”

Were Crispi’s statements just a bad take or was it a lie? Oddly enough, Crispi didn’t stop with his proclamation, he made a wager: “If you’re able to…I’ll endorse Spadea and donate $25k to him.”

Now, if Crispi had made that promise as satire or hyperbole, he could say so and move on. But it was neither. It was a direct, boastful claim meant to smear Spadea’s campaign, undermine his momentum, and puff up Crispi’s own image as an insider with special knowledge. Instead, the stunt exposed his dishonesty.

The time has come for Mike Crispi to make good on his word. Not because Spadea needs his money or endorsement—but because integrity demands it. In politics, credibility is everything. You don’t get to play the role of truth-teller while spreading disinformation just because it fits your narrative.

Crispi said he’d endorse Spadea and donate $25,000. The venue was booked. The email was clear. The promise is in writing. The receipts are public.

Now it’s Mike’s move. Either he honors his word—or he proves, once and for all, that he never deserved the microphone in the first place.
